Irakli Lekvinadze participated in the International Conference “Competition Day 2025” organized by the Croatian Competition Agency

Chairman of the Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency, Irakli Lekvinadze, participated in the international conference “Competition Day 2025”, organized by the Croatian Competition Agency.


The high-level event, held in Zagreb, Croatia, brought together representatives of competition authorities from various countries, international organizations, academic institutions, and the business community. Throughout the conference, distinguished speakers and experts reviewed current trends and emerging challenges in competition policy and enforcement. The panel discussions addressed modern approaches to merger control and the effective implementation of competition rules in the digital economy.


Opening statements were delivered by senior officials of the Government of Croatia, the President of the Competition Council of the Croatian Competition Agency, the Director General of the Employers’ Association, the President of the Croatian Chamber of Economy, and Ori Schwartz, Head of the Competition Division at the OECD. The conference was also attended by high-ranking representatives from the Directorate-General for Competition (DG COMP) of the European Commission, as well as heads of competition authorities from Portugal, Romania, Austria, Slovenia, and Spain.


Irakli Lekvinadze was accompanied by Levan Kalandadze, Deputy Chairman of the Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency.
