The Training Research Centre of the Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency (GCCA) organised an informational meeting with members of the Kutaisi branch of the Georgian Blind Union.
During the meeting, Agency representatives provided a comprehensive overview of the following key areas: consumer rights-covering the principal legislative guarantees and recent regulatory developments; safe trading practices-including rules and recommendations applicable to both online and in-store transactions and significant enforcement decisions recently issued by the Agency.
The meeting was conducted in an interactive format, with particular emphasis placed on safety measures applicable to the use of e-commerce platforms. The session was specifically designed to assist visually impaired individuals in making informed purchasing decisions and effectively exercising their rights as consumers in everyday life. The overarching objective of the event was to strengthen participants' legal awareness and broaden their knowledge of applicable consumer protection legislation.
The GCCA actively implements similar educational and outreach initiatives on a regular basis across Tbilisi and the regions of Georgia. It is a standing priority of the Agency to ensure that information on consumer rights is equally accessible to all segments of society, in line with the principles of inclusivity and equal treatment.
