The representative of the Georgian Competition Agency in Adjara, Tariel Giorgadze, and the director of the Adjara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ednar Bolkvadze, held information meetings for citizens and representatives of local businesses living in the municipalities of Khulo, Shuakhevi, Keda, Khelvachauri, and Kobuleti.
Within the framework of the workshops, the reforms implemented in the direction of strengthening the competition policy and the mechanisms for the protection of consumer rights were discussed. The events took place in the dialogue, question-and-answer regime, which were held with the support of the government of Adjara and the municipalities of the region.
The purpose of the events held in the Ajara region was to inform the citizens and the local business sector, to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the dialogue format, to familiarize them with the mechanisms of applying to the Agency in case of violation of the competition legislation and consumer rights.
To the present day, the National Competition Agency, studying the case of a possible violation of the law of Georgia on the Protection of Consumer Rights, in the food service sector, in Batumi.The case concerns to services provided by 11 trader in public catering facilities, cafes and bars, in foreign languages only.
