The Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency (GCCA) signed a commitment agreement with the company “Kia Georgia” in the autobusiness sector in favor of the consumer.
In accordance with the agreement signed between the GCCA and the trader, in order to eliminate the alleged violation of the law, the trader was instructed to:
- To change the company’s internal policy and comply with the requirements of the law;
- Comprehensibly and fully provide the information to a consumer defined by the law in the national language of Georgia, which should be placed in shopping facilities;
- To establish clear guarantee conditions in accordance with the law.
According to the GCCA decision and as per the agreement, the trader was given a one-month period to fulfill the obligations to the Agency.
For information: According to the data of seven months of 2024, 502 applications have been submitted regarding the protection of consumer rights. 52 consumer rights violations were confirmed in 114 cases. As a result of failure to fulfill obligations imposed by GCCA, 27 traders were fined a total of 22,312 GEL in 35 cases.
