Workshops started as part of the TAIEX mission at the Competition and Consumer Agency (GCCA)

Work meetings started at the Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency (GCCA) as part of the EU-funded TAIEX mission (Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument of the European Commission).


The following individuals from the Georgian delegation are participating in the meetings: Levan Kalandadze, Deputy Chairman of GCCA; Salome Kavtaradze, Head of Legal Department; Irakli Shakiashvili, Deputy Head of Legal Department; Ramaz Razmadze, Representative of the Legal Department. Piotr Adamczewski, Director of Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK), Branch Office, Poland; Patrycja Sobczak, Deputy Director of State Aid Monitoring Department, Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK), Poland; Katarzyna Stradomska, Specialist of Financial Institutions, Services and Media Unit Concentration Control Department, Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK), Poland are involved in the meetings from the EU side


The meetings scheduled for July 1-5 will be conducted online to enhance Georgian competition legislation and evaluate its alignment with the relevant European Union legislation.


In 2020, substantial changes were made to Georgia's competition legislation to align it with EU standards. According to experts from the EU-funded TWINNING project, which was conducted in the Agency for two years, the alignment between Georgian and EU competition legislation stands at 75%, which in 2022 was 60%.
