At the initiative of the Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency (GCCA), Agency representatives held an interactive session with young people at the Kvareli Justice Training Center, as part of the Youth Agency’s thematic camp.
The session aimed to equip participants with practical knowledge on protecting their consumer rights, skills that are essential for navigating everyday situations. Young people gained insights on how to assert their rights, engage confidently with businesses and public authorities, recognize and avoid fraudulent practices or misleading marketing, and understand where to seek assistance in the event of violations.
Mariam Shaishmelashvili, Head of GCCA’s Training Research Center, and Oliko Kobakhidze, Lawyer at the Consumer Rights Protection Department, facilitated the session. Together with the students, they explored key consumer protection decisions, available tools and standards, current challenges, and future priorities. The session was delivered in an interactive format.
The thematic youth camp, organized by the Youth Agency under the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, is hosting around 1000 young participants this year. Its goal is to promote personal development, encourage social responsibility, and raise awareness on important issues through non-formal education.
GCCA is committed to strengthening public awareness of consumer rights and competition policy across the country. In close cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth, the Agency regularly holds educational sessions for school and university students in Tbilisi and throughout Georgia’s regions.
