Sergo Sanikidze, Head of the GCCA’s Consumer Rights Protection Department, participates in ICPEN International Conference Panel Discussion

Sergo Sanikidze, Head of the Consumer Rights Protection Department at the GCCA, participated in a panel discussion at the International Conference of the International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network (ICPEN) in the Dominican Republic, titled “Agency Effectiveness Working Group Report and Mentoring Program Outcomes: Experience and Future Directions”.

The session focused on the initial outcomes of the mentoring program, which engaged over 15 participating countries. The program promoted the exchange of best practices and enhanced the effectiveness of enforcement across multiple jurisdictions. Sergo Sanikidze shared Georgia’s experience with fellow participants and highlighted the achievements of the country’s collaboration with the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection of Poland. He further emphasized that the results of this partnership will have a meaningful impact not only for Georgia but also for the broader Caucasus and Eastern European region.

“Mentoring has the potential to serve as a catalyst for building regional bridges. By consolidating the experiences of neighboring countries, ICPEN can establish a model that strengthens cooperation at both regional and global levels”, emphasized Sergo Sanikidze.

The session was moderated by Antonio Mancini, Senior Expert at the Directorate for International and European Affairs of the Italian Competition Authority (AGCM), and included representatives from Australia, Ireland, Poland, Colombia, Turkey, and Armenia.
