GCCA representatives discuss E-Commerce sector challenges and regulatory standards with eCommerce Association Georgia

Representatives of the Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency (GCCA) held a meeting with members of eCommerce Association Georgia.

The meeting focused on key challenges facing the e-commerce sector, as well as on the regulatory standards established by the GCCA. The parties also exchanged views on best practices developed in this area.

The discussion placed particular emphasis on consumer protection mechanisms in online commerce, as well as on the regulatory standards necessary to ensure the effective, transparent, and fair functioning of a modern digital market.

It was emphasized that the e-commerce guidelines recently developed by the GCCA were prepared with the aim of ensuring the effective enforcement of the requirements set forth in the Law of Georgia “On Electronic Commerce”. The document is intended to assist the business community, e-commerce operators, and other relevant stakeholders in the consistent and proper implementation of legal obligations, thereby contributing to the establishment of a safe, transparent, and reliable online environment in Georgia.
