Within the framework of its mandate to promote a competitive market environment and ensure a high standard of consumer protection, the Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency (GCCA) conducted information and educational sessions at Tbilisi Public Schools N 55 and N 85. The initiative was organized by the Agency’s Training Research Center, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia.
Representatives of the Agency delivered presentations covering the legal framework governing consumer protection, enforcement mechanisms, the fundamental principles of competition policy, and significant decisions adopted within the Agency’s institutional practice.
Special attention was devoted to practical aspects of consumer behavior in both offline and online markets. Students received detailed guidance on key considerations when purchasing goods and services, including transparency of information, contractual terms, and remedies available in cases of non-compliance. They were also informed about the procedures for submitting complaints and the competent authorities responsible for protecting consumer rights.
