The Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency (GCCA) and the Georgian Bar Association have concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).The document was signed by the Chairman of the GCCA, Irakli Lekvinadze and the Chairman of the Georgian Bar Association, Irakli Kandashvili
The Memorandum of Understanding is intended to reinforce institutional cooperation and to further advance professional standards in the fields of competition law, anti-dumping, and consumer protection, including through the structured involvement of the Competition Law Committee of the Georgian Bar Association.
The Memorandum provides a framework for effective cooperation in the areas of competition law and consumer protection, with a view to enhancing legal practice, advancing the professional qualifications of lawyers, and raising public awareness.
Within this framework, the parties will undertake joint initiatives, including the organisation of training programmes, seminars, and conferences, the development of practical guidelines, recommendations, and analytical studies, the assessment and exchange of best practices, the implementation of awareness-raising activities on consumer protection and the promotion of professional dialogue between public and private stakeholders.
