Elene Tskhomelidze, Head of the Anti-Dumping Measures Department of the Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency, participated in a seminar organised by the World Trade Organization (WTO) entitled "Competition Policy, Trade and Development".
The seminar, held in Geneva, brought together representatives of competition authorities and state institutions from a range of jurisdictions with a view to examining prevailing approaches and best practice in the fields of competition policy, international trade and development.
The programme addressed the role of competition and trade policy in the process of economic development, with particular attention to the interconnections between the two policy areas, international practice in the design of integrated policy frameworks, and the principles of competitive neutrality. The seminar further comprised group practical sessions, intended to promote the exchange of experience and professional discussion among participants.
The seminar was conducted by representatives of the WTO Secretariat, together with international experts.
