During August, the cost of the cheapest basket comprising 13 basic food products and the cheapest basket comprising ten basic non-food products for primary consumption, both presented on www.ekalata.gov.ge, was subject to continuous change.
The lowest cost of the food products basket was recorded in the period of 5-11 August, at GEL 37.41, whereas at the end of the reporting period the cost of the cheapest such basket stood at GEL 37.45.
With regard to the basket comprising non-food products for primary consumption, its lowest cost was recorded in the period of 8-9 August, at GEL 25.23, whereas at the end of the reporting period the cost of the cheapest such basket stood at GEL 26.84.
The information portal was launched at the end of June of the current year. By the end of the reporting period, compared with the figure recorded at the start of the month, the cost of the cheapest basket comprising ten basic non-food products for primary consumption had decreased by 29.7 percent, while the cost of the cheapest basket comprising thirteen basic food products had decreased by 0.5 percent.
