GCCA Chairman Irakli Lekvinadze presented the Agency's 2025 Activity Report to the Parliament of Georgia, at a sitting of the The Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee.
According to the report presented, the past year was distinguished by significant decisions for the organisation, a marked improvement in the protection of consumer rights, and international recognition:
4 investigations were concluded, in two of which abuse of a dominant position was confirmed;
Seven strategic markets were under monitoring;
In light of infringements found on the pharmaceutical market, four companies were collectively fined up to GEL 600,000;
Applications concerning consumer rights increased by 65 %;
With the Agency's involvement, over 90 per cent of complaints were resolved in consumers' favors, with citizens recovering approximately GEL 1 million;
One anti-dumping investigation was concluded.
Among the principal international achievements of 2025 was the GCCA's securing of the ICPEN Presidency for 2026/2027. Georgia will host a high-level international conference from 14 to 18 September.
The Agency further received international recognition and an award from the World Bank for the results achieved in the pharmaceutical sector.
In 2026, the GCCA will continue its proactive work with a view to improving the quality of competition and raising standards in the protection of consumer rights.
