GCCA representatives participated in an International Seminar on Competition Enforcement and Advocacy in Spain

Representatives of the Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency (GCCA) took part in the seminar "Main Concepts of Competition Enforcement and Advocacy", organised by the OECD-GVH Regional Centre for Competition (RCC) and held in Málaga, Spain, from 15 to 18 September 2026, to exchange experience and best practices at international level.

The Agency was represented by Lana Gelashvili, Chief Specialist of the Legal Department, and Giorgi Modebadze, Leading Specialist of the Strategic Markets Monitoring Department.

The seminar was organised in close cooperation with the Andalusian Competition Agency and the University of Málaga, with a view to deepening professional expertise in the field of competition policy and enforcement, exchanging practical experience and strengthening international cooperation.

The programme covered key areas of competition law and policy, including restrictive agreements, abuse of a dominant position, merger control and competition advocacy.

Participation in the seminar enabled the Agency's representatives to gain first-hand insight into the practices of competition authorities of OECD member and partner countries, to present the Agency's own experience and to exchange views with international experts on current challenges in effective competition enforcement and the ways of addressing them.
