www.ekalata.gov.ge expands to include 2 additional supermarket chains, introduces store geolocation feature

The information portal www.ekalata.gov.ge, launched on the initiative of the Government of Georgia, has been expanded to include two further supermarket chains "Supta Sakhli" ("Clean House") and "Euro Product". The platform has additionally been enhanced with a geolocation function enabling users to readily identify the nearest branch of any listed retail chain.

Www.ekalata.gov.ge allows consumers to compare prices across a range of retail chains within a single online space, thereby supporting informed purchasing decisions. The portal currently presents 16 retail chains, including "Agrohub," "Ambari," "Carrefour," "Daily," "Goodwill," "Gvirila," "Kalata," "Libre," "Magniti," "Nikora," "Ori Nabiji," "Spar," and "Universami," among others.

Consumers may compare prices on 13 essential food items and 10 essential non-food items. A dedicated savings-calculation function further enables consumers to estimate potential savings by comparing product prices across different retail networks.

The objective of www.ekalata.gov.ge is to strengthen consumers' access to price information, facilitate the comparison of offers across retail chains, and promote informed consumer choice. Data displayed on the portal is updated on an ongoing basis, drawing on information submitted by the participating retail chains.

The Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency remains committed to the continued development of www.ekalata.gov.ge. Several additional features and services are planned for future rollout, with a dedicated mobile application for iOS and Android devices currently in the final stages of development.
