Within the framework of the 4th International Consumer Protection Week, a meeting was held at the Gori Municipality Tourist Information Centre.
The participants were welcomed by Levan Kalandadze, Deputy Chairman of the Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency; Vladimer Bozhadze, Member of the Parliament of Georgia; Davit Narmania, Chairman of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC); David Onoprishvili, Head of the Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia; Tamaz Bestaev, Deputy State Representative in the Shida Kartli region and Ioseb Mazmishvili, Deputy Mayor of Gori.
During the meeting, representatives of the organizing institutions introduced local residents to the fundamental principles of consumer rights protection and outlined the mechanisms available for safeguarding consumer interests. Particular attention was given to challenges associated with medical insurance, in relation to which the Insurance State Supervision Service delivered a presentation providing an overview of key consumer-related issues in the health insurance sector.
The meeting was conducted in an interactive question-and-answer format, enabling participants to discuss practical issues and receive detailed information from the representatives of the respective institutions.
The event was attended by representatives of local authorities, residents of Gori Municipality, and other interested stakeholders.
