The III International Consumer Protection Week 

The 3rd International Consumer Protection Week was held in Georgia from March 10 to 15, 2025, as a joint initiative of the Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency, the National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission of Georgia, the State Insurance Supervision Service of Georgia, the National Bank of Georgia, the Communications Commission, and the National Food Agency. The opening ceremony took place on March 10 in Tbilisi, at the Pullman Hotel. As part of the week’s agenda, regional outreach and informational meetings with consumers were conducted in various locations across the country: March 12 – Akhalkalaki; March 14 – Zugdidi; March 15 – Batumi.

 

 

The III International Conference "Competition and Consumer Protection" 

The 3rd International Conference on Competition Policy Enforcement and Consumer Protection was held in Georgia from November 20 to 22, 2024, bringing together delegations from 15 countries. The event convened over 300 delegates and featured more than 50 distinguished international and local speakers. Representatives of national authorities, alongside participants from prominent international and regional organizations—including the International Competition Network (ICN), UNCTAD, OECD, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition (DG COMP), and the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers (DG JUSTICE)—engaged in in-depth discussions on key developments in the areas of competition and consumer protection.

 

 

The II International Consumer Rights Protection Week


 

The II International Consumer Rights Protection Week was held from March 11 to March 15. The event was jointly organized by the Competition and Consumer Agency, the National Bank of Georgia, the National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission of Georgia, the Communications Commission, the State Insurance Supervision Service of Georgia, and the National Food Agency.

 

An opening event took place on March 11th at the Pullman Hotel in Tbilisi. During the event, six regulatory bodies responsible for consumer rights protection reviewed the results, challenges, and enforcement mechanisms related to consumer rights protection. Throughout the upcoming week, meetings were held with consumers on March 12 in Gurjaani, March 14 in Kutaisi, and on March 15 (International Consumer Protection Day) in Batumi. The main objective of this week was to raise public awareness regarding consumer rights.

 

 

The conference "Competition Policy: Trends and Challenges" 

 

The conference "Competition Policy: Trends and Challenges" was held in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Democratic Republic of Georgia and Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, which was attended by high-ranking individuals from 30 countries and up to 200 participants, including representatives of the Georgian government, parliament, local and international organizations, competition aauthorities from various countries, academia, business associations, and the civil sector.
