The Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency (GCCA) has confirmed that "Smartly" Ltd (Bolt Taxi) violated the primary requirement to offer information to the consumer under the Law of Georgia on the Protection of Consumer Rights.
According to the GCCA, Bolt Taxi is a platform for providing transportation services, and "Smartly" Ltd is a trading entity in Georgia that acts on behalf of Bolt Operations OU (Tallinn, Vana-Lõuna 15, registration number 14532901). Consequently, as per the GCCA's decision, "Smartly" Ltd has been found liable for violating the Law of Georgian on the Protection of Consumer Rights, which, within a period of 1 month, was instructed to adjust its trade policy to the requirements of the relevant articles of the law.
For information: In the first six months of 2024, 407 applications were filed regarding the protection of consumer rights. Out of these, confirmed 38 violations of consumers group rights in 84 cases, and 67 commitment agreements were signed in 77 cases. Additionally, 21 traders were fined for failing to meet GCCA obligations.
