A meeting was held in Kutaisi as part of the II International Week of Consumer Rights Protection

A meeting on consumer rights protection was held in Kutaisi on March 14, as part of the II International Consumer Rights Protection Week, which was organized by six regulatory authorities. Zviad Shalamberidze, State Commissioner in Imereti region, Davit Eremeishvili, vice-mayor of Kutaisi municipality, Davit Narmania, Chairman of GNERC, and Davit Onoprishvili, Chairman of the State Insurance Supervision Service opened the event and addressed the participants.


The event was attended by academics, non-governmental organizations, businesses, and consumers from various industries. Representatives from six regulatory bodies addressed the attendees on consumer rights and authorities' reaction mechanisms in case of a violation.


On March 11-15, the II International Consumer Rights Protection Week is being held across Georgia. The event is being organized in collaboration with several important entities, including the Competition and Consumer Agency, the National Bank of Georgia, the National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission of Georgia, the Communications Commission, the State Insurance Supervision Service of Georgia, and the National Food Agency. The goal of the week is to strengthen procedures for protecting consumer rights.
