Chairman of the Georgian National Competition Agency, Irakli Lekvinadze and other employees of the Agency are on a working visit in Vilnius, Lithuania.
In order to share international practice and experience, workshops are being held at the Competition Council of the Republic of Lithuania. The meeting was held with the Chairman of the Georgian National Competition Agency, Irakli Lekvinadze and the newly elected Chairwoman of the Competition Council of the Republic of Lithuania, Jolanta Ivanauskienė. Where the fruitful cooperation between the competition authorities of the two countries was highlighted.
The issues to be discussed within the framework of the working visit are: effective mechanisms of merger control, cases of abuse of dominant position, facts of the restriction of competition by state authorities and restrictive agreements, and practical examples of the effective investigation process.
Meetings were held at the Public Procurement Office, the Supreme Court, the National Audit Office, the National Energy Regulatory Council, and the Communications Regulatory Authority.
The visit of the employees of the Georgian National Competition Agency is implemented with the support of the EU funded "TWINNING" project. Within the framework of the project, consultations and technical support are provided by the Lithuanian and Austrian Competition Authorities.
Within the framework of the working visit to Vilnius, meetings of the Chairman of the National Competition Agency are planned with the heads of various Authorities.
