The Competition Agency organised a round table with the business association's representatives

A round table was held for representatives of business associations, organised by the Georgian National Competition Agency and supported by the EU-funded TWINNING project. Within the framework of the workshop, the participants discussed the processes of competition policy protection and enforcement mechanisms.


Levan Kalandadze, Deputy Chairman of the Georgian National Competition Agency, and Justina Paulauskaitė, Resident Twinning Adviser to the TWINNING project opened the meeting.


Daumantas Grikinis, Head of Anti-competitive Agreements Investigation Group, Competition Council of Lithuania made a presentation on why competition legislation is relevant for members of the business associations and how to prevent violations in the sector. Verena Strasser, Deputy Federal Cartel Prosecutor of Austria discussed with participants the fundamental concerns of responsibility that are established in infringements of competition legislation using practical examples.


Representatives of business associations and the counterpart regulatory authority, employees of the Competition Agency, and international and local experts in the field attended the working meeting, which was held in a question-and-answer format.
