Irakli Lekvinadze participated in the 22nd OECD Global Competition Forum in France

Irakli Lekvinadze, the Chairman of the Georgian National Competition Agency, was invited by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and presented a report in the 22nd Global Forum on Competition held in Paris, France.


Irakli Lekvinadze, at the event presented a report at panel sessions, discussing concentration control in Georgia, the enforcement mechanisms, and the importance of using economic analysis in cartels.


The Global Competition Forum was chaired by Mathias Cormann, Secretary-General - OECD, Frédéric Jenny, Chair of the OECD Competition Committee, and others. More than 100 heads of competition authorities, high-ranking representatives of international organizations, public and private bodies participated in the event.


According to the agenda, in the format of an extended dialogue, the main subject of discussion at the event was the strengthening of the competition policy, the sharing of international practices, trends, results, challenges, and future, strategically important issues. Among them, in the format of workshops, the participants reviewed alternatives to Leniency Programmes, the methods of detecting and preventing anti-competitive agreements, effective mechanisms of concentration control, and more.


Nika Sergia, the Head of the anti-dumping department of the GNCA, also attended the global competition forum held in France.
