As of July 1, 2025, the Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency (GCCA) has released updated information on court proceedings concerning its decisions.
Between 2014 and 2025, 61 court cases were initiated disputing decisions made by the GCCA in the areas of competition policy enforcement and consumer rights protection. Of the 15 cases concluded during this period, 14 were resolved in favor of the Agency, with the court upholding its decisions, while one case was remanded for further review.
At present, 56 court cases related to 47 decisions made by the GCCA are ongoing in various instances. Among them, 41 pertain to competition-related matters, while 15 concern consumer rights protection. These include cases involving oil companies, pharmaceutical companies, online cinema ticketing platforms, insurance advance guarantees, and more.
It is noteworthy that any decision made by the GCCA can be appealed in the Tbilisi City Court. The court serves as a crucial mechanism to ensure legal oversight of all GCCA decisions.
