The Cooperation document has been signed between the five market regulators to support and develop competition

Irakli Lekvinadze, Chairman of the National Competition Agency, Koba Gvenetadze, President of the National Bank, Davit Narmania, Chairman of the GNERC, Davit Onoprishvili, Chairman of the State Insurance Supervision Service and Vakhtang Abashidze, member of the Communications Commission, signed the Cooperation Document.

In order to raise public awareness about the effective enforcement of competition policy, strengthening cooperation, promoting competition policy and the activities carried out, the parties agreed- ointly organize the annual Competition Conference, where the Agencies will discuss and evaluate the work conducted, the results achieved, and the challenges during the year. Also, to analyze the general competitive environment concerning each subordinate area. Based on the agreement signed on December 3, 2021, the parties expressed their readiness to hold the event in December of each year, in parallel with World Competition Day.

According to the amendments to the Law of Georgia on Competition in 2020, a unified legal framework has been created for the separation of competencies between the National Competition Agency and the regulatory bodies.

Regarding World Competition Day, Georgian National Competition Agency has organized an event under the topic: "Competition Policy for an Inclusive and Sustainable Economy." The event was attended by: members of the governmental and parliamentary team, experts, representatives of partner agencies, local and international organizations, diplomatic corps, business sector, the academic community, and civil society.
