According to the decision of the Competition Agency, the trader is obliged to provide services in the Georgian language


The Georgian National Competition Agency, based on the statement of the citizen Lana Kancheli, against “Veterinary Center Zooplaza”, completed the investigation - on the alleged violation of the Law of Georgia on the Protection of Consumer Rights.


In the frame of the case study, the Agency signed a commitment agreement with the trader, in which, the trader was instructed to restore the rights of those consumers who allegedly suffered damages due to the trader’s policy. In particular, in the process of studying the case, a trader is obliged to provide the following information and written documents to a consumer in the national language of Georgia, in a clear and understandable manner.


In accordance with the signed commitment agreement, the trader is obliged to submit evidence of the fulfilled obligations to the Agency within 1 (one) month. In similar cases, taking into account the content of the issue, the Georgian National Competition Agency actively cooperates with the State Language Department.


For information: from November 2022 - to March 2023, Agency has received 194 applications, and a case study has been started on 118 applications. Regarding 109 issues, the issue has been completed. During 5 months the 28 commitment agreement was signed in favor of the consumer on 49 cases, where, the issue regarding the 11 cases is completely exhausted. The fact of violation was confirmed in 5 cases (16 cases), and in 2 cases was not confirmed.
